The range of Accrington Hotels offer a first class service coupled with fantastic state-of-the-art amenities and in room comforts. Many are drawn to this town for its interesting history and beautiful farmland surrounds.

This town's name is thought to have derived from the ring of acorn trees that used to circle the entire town which were unfortunately lost during the industrial revolution, the largest peak in the park supports this, Oak Hill Park. The Kings Highway passes above the town; this was used by British royalty as a hunting ground in a time the area was known as one of the four hundred forests of Blackburnshire.

The town original and most successful industry was textiles providing work for many locals in the mills and Dye works. Unfortunately the conditions in which the workers worked in were not of the highest standard causing many riots. The most famous being the Plug Riots where the workers unplugged the boilers needed for the operation of the machinery for work to continue. This famous riot spread from town to town as thousands of workers took to the hills to persuade others to join.
